On the 5th of October, DMEC will host a "Marine Energy" launch event in Nieuwspoort, The Hague. The objective of this event is to showcase the importance of marine energy in the Netherlands with a focus on innovation, export potential, and employment. Renowned speakers from government and industry will inform attendees about the potential of Dutch marine energy technologies, services, and concepts.
The programme (see below) starts at 15.30h and will end with a take-away message session and drinks at 18.00h. DMEC will kick off with an introduction, after which Deputees from four Dutch provinces present the showcase projects in their regions. These showcases offer physical locations to test and promote innovative export products/concepts. The Dutch climate ambassador and Ocean Energy Europe's CEO will shine light on how the development of marine energy helps reach European and international climate goals. Afterwards, Dutch Expansion Capital (DEC) and Alliander will explain how the Netherlands can develop innovative and unique marine energy concepts in collaboration with our strong offshore, maritime and energy sectors.
During the event, the recently launched "Value Development Track Energy from Water" will be introduced. In addition, attendees are invited to participate in "thematic co-creation tables" where stakeholders come up with multi-disciplinary solutions that could help realise the potential of marine energy in the Netherlands. A special key message take-away session will be organised at 17.30h for members of the House of Representatives and the press.
