Hogeschool Zeeland

The test facility at the Hogeschool Zeeland (HZ) is mainly focused on fundamental, lab scale research. Tests are often coupled to research projects. The test facilities of HZ have been targeting marine energy technologies since 2016; before that, tests were mainly conducted on dike and dam technologies.

HZ’s facilities include a stream flume and wave tank suitable for scale model testing. The tank can simulate both waves and currents, enabling the testing of technologies under simulated real-sea conditions. The facilities can be used to test wave energy converters and tidal energy technologies of TRLs 1 to 4.
